Stopped there for breakfast on a Saturday. Place was really crowded. The coffee was good with refills and the food was ok but the serving of hash was very sparse. Perhaps a small ice cream scoop, barely enough room to set a couple of poached eggs on top. Maybe they were trying to make it stretch.

One of the greatest experiences of a visit to Old Orchard Beach is a meal at the Good Thyme Cafe! Both the superb service and the tastes available from the extensive menu are memorable.

My sister and I are always on the lookout for a good, local breakfast place, and some friends of ours recommended Good Thymes. We got there and were seated quickly, and the waitress took our order and brought us both coffee. That was when things began to go downhill. We ordered the same thing: 2 eggs, scrambled, sausage, raisin toast, and home fries. We got our order in a timely fashion but I was surprised to see 1) that there was only one sausage patty, 2) that there was only one piece of toast, and 3) that the portion of home fries was miniscule at best - and there is no alternative offer to the home fries, such as hash browns, which I frankly would have preferred. The food was average - unimpressive - except that the toast really wasn't . . . toasted. It was much more a slice of raisin bread with a bit of whatever passes for butter slathered on it. I wanted a glass of water, and we both wanted some more butter for the toast. We would also have liked a refill on our coffee, but we weren't able to make any of these requests because we didn't see our waitress (in this not very busy in the early morning restaurant) again, once she'd brought our food, until she handed us the bill. Needless to say, with the plethora of good breakfast restaurants around, we won't be returning.

I've been here a couple of times before and they serve excellent breakfast. There is no doubt about that! Today I had perfectly buttered whole grain toast, creamy chocolate milk, delicious bruschetta/feta/portobello mushroom omelette and sweet oranges. My meal also came with home fries, but I swapped them out with my friend who got homemade hash since I'm not a fan of home fries. Unfortunately, I realized the homemade hash had meat in it after a whopping six bites. We asked the waiter and she told us it had pastrami in it. I pretty much lost my appetite after that and gave the rest of my food to my friend. I'm not sure why every little thing has to have meat in it these days. Now we are adding meat onto our potatoes or has it always been like that? Lol. I guess vegetarians will never understand this. Anyway, I'm fine with foods having meat sprinkled on them, but restaurants need to EXPLICITLY state this in their menu. Maybe I'm mistaken, but I didn't see anywhere on the menu that the hash had bits of pastrami. Luckily, I'm not the type to make a scene or get super dramatic if I accidentally eat meat, but I know some vegetarians that would be super pissed if this happened to them!! Other than that, this place is the ultimate breakfast heaven. Next time I just need to inquire about their sides, because restaurants are notorious for adding secret trace amounts of meat in foods that you wouldn't expect.

Good breakfast! Definitely worth it... found it here on yelp and glad we did! Fresh fruit bowl was great for the kids. And the wait staff was right there to refresh your coffee!! Definitely go back next time we are in town!

Great little classic breakfast spot with super speedy service close to the heart of Old Orchard Beach's downtown area. Good prices, great menu (see my pics). I hear it's a local favorite. #TrustTheLocals

Excellent service and delicious, and interesting menu options! We were greeted by Colin and Chef Sean and were allowed to sit where we wanted. Our little guys got pancakes and devoured them, so the Chef happily made them some more! Our server, Derek, was so attentive and we had some very nice conversations with all three gentlemen. Eggs Benedict - beach style, with homemade corned beef hash - was delicious. Best strawberry smoothie ever, and our kids really liked if. "The Cure" was a dish split by two of us. It's shaved prime rib with veggies and melted cheese served with your choice of a few interesting beer options. So good!!! I can't say enough about the guys and how great they were to us and the kids. They are an amazing bunch!

The food here is nothing special,as well as the service. For the price of the meals I expected a lot more. I've cooked better at home and for a quarter of the price. Parking was tuff to find unless you are ok with walking a bit. This was not an option for the older people in our group. You might be better off going next store to market for some food than this place.

Horrible breakfast, ordered eggs medium, streak MR. Eggs were very runny and steak over done. Waitress argued with me about what was a medium egg. Got a new dish, still horrible, eggs runny and the steak RARE (cold in middle). The Cooks stared at me when I got the second dish. They probably spit in it. Never again. Also my daughter ordered Belgium Waffle topped with Strawberries which were the frozen kind and super watery which make the waffle a soggy mess. Husband and son got pancakes which they said were good. Not worth the money. Left and went and got some pier fries because I was so hungry.

Michele's is my go-to spot in southern Maine for the best-ever blueberry pancakes. They're big, fluffy, and homemade-tasting, with wild Maine berries and a side of real maple syrup, an increasing rarity as the cost of the real stuff soars. Other breakfast items--eggs cooked various ways, French toast--are just fine in the classic-diner style. This is on Cascade Road, off the main tourist drag, and it attracts a nice mix of visitors and locals: couples, families, contractors on the way to a job. Service is reliably friendly and efficient. Prices are super-reasonable, probably because Michele's is a cash-only place, but honestly, you won't need much cash to get yourself a great breakfast.

Four of us had lunch at the Food Thyme Cafe this morning. The food was all good and cooked the way we wanted it, and the portions was reasonable. Coffee was above average for this part of the country, meaning that it was drinkable. All too many breakfast places in New England have horrible coffee but they got this right. I wish there was an alternative to home fries, especially hash browns. It could be that they really do have alternatives but I didn't see them on the menu. The homemade corned beef hash wasn't bad, but it was all chopped so fine that it resembled the stuff that comes out of a can. Our server was friendly and efficient. The only thing that seemed to slow her down was a co-worker who couldn't clean a table without spilling large quantities of liquid on the floor. I'm thinking that today was that person's first and last day but everyone seemed to have a good sense of humor about it. Or maybe it was the owner... Seriously, this was the clumsiest table busser ever. The interior was bright and clean, especially the floor which was getting re-washed every time someone spilled something. The decor is a little more quaint and country than I like, but I was eating there and not renting a cottage so I didn't pay too much attention to it. And the prices are reasonable. A filling breakfast with decent coffee came to about $10 per person with tax & tip. Add a few sides to a table and it might rise to $12. The Good Thyme Cafe used to be Michele's Garden Café. According to their facebook page facebook.com/pages/Good-… Michele's was sold over the summer and the new owners changed the name. I would go back any time someone else wanted to go because it would have been hard for them to improve on what they're already doing.

My husband and I frequently visit the Saco area and were looking for a new place to have breakfast when we happened upon Good Thyme Cafe. The food was wonderful, the atmosphere and decor were charming, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We'll definitely go back again.

Had the pleasure of visiting this hole in the wall spot during the quiet season, and I must say it was a real pleasure. We went with some friends and the menu was delicious. They had fruit topped French Toast with Carmalized onions, pumpkin Pancakes, Lobster Omlettes, and Crab Benedict. Very different even being from NYC. Loved it's quaintness. For those of you who think its to expensive, I suggest traveling into the city. Our meal for 6 was about $10 each. In NYC, it would have been half as good (with fake mayple syrup) and about $100.00. Will come back! Thanks!

I have now been here maybe 4 times and they never disappoint. It's a great diner style type place with fast paced service and food. Great food and coffee. Waitresses really work hard as there is always a full house. If you get there after 9 even on a weekday expect to wait. Great kids menu, omelets are huge and delicious and bacon crispy. Lots of options on menu. My son said they have the best pancakes ever. My only criticism is the hash brown potatoes are not great. I just ask to not get them and my husband just orders hash instead. Definitely worth a try
